What a TruGenix animal record actually holds

A collection record is only worth keeping if it answers questions later. These are the fields behind every animal you register, and why each one is there.

Identity that survives a growing collection

Each animal carries a species from the full taxonomy, a morph, a sex, a hatch date and a photo. It also carries your own identifier, whatever you already write on the tub or the rack card, and that identifier is enforced unique inside your collection, so two animals can never quietly end up sharing a label. Animals you are no longer working with can be archived instead of deleted, which keeps their history intact for the offspring that descend from them.

Sex you looked at, and sex the lab confirmed

A record distinguishes the sex you entered from the sex a laboratory verified. When a genetic sex determination result comes back, the animal is flagged as lab verified, so months later you can tell at a glance which animals were probed or vented and which carry an actual DNA result. That distinction is the one most spreadsheets lose first.

Parentage, and the generations behind it

Every animal can name its mother and its father, and those links build an ancestry that reaches back further than one generation. Register a clutch and the offspring inherit that structure automatically, so lineage is a by-product of recording your breeding rather than a second job you do afterwards.

A health log, not a notes field

Health entries are dated and structured: the type of event, a description, the veterinarian, the medication and its dosage, weight, temperature, and a next due date for anything that recurs. It is the record you want when a buyer asks what an animal was treated for, or when you are trying to see whether a weight trend is real.

Genetics attached to the animal, not to an email

Genetic tests, laboratory orders and confirmed traits all hang off the animal itself. When a het test resolves, the result lands on the record rather than in an inbox, and it stays with the animal when it changes hands.

Free to use

Recording your collection costs nothing. You pay for genetic tests when you order them, and only for those.
